Mother tongue means a lot to everyone. It is not only an identity but also a reflection of our own culture, history, root, and civilization. Mother tongue becomes almost essential to communicate with family and relatives in Nepal. “Bhasa Chautari” is an online model and strategy initiated by a group of Nepalese parents living in Denmark to teach Nepali language and culture for children of Nepalese origin who are living abroad.
It is very likely that our second generation may not express their interest in Nepali language, but it is the responsibility of parents to create a better learning environment where kids can learn Nepali in an indirect way. Any group can adapt this online model for a small group of kids. Bhasa Chautari is willing to boost such efforts anywhere in the world.
